Looking back at the participation in the 3rd International Maritime Conference within MareLaw project

On 27 November the representatives of Riga Technical University Latvian Maritime Academy Sandra Lielbarde and Inara Plankova together with Ranka Petrinović and Petra Amižić Jelovčić from the University of Split (Croatia) delivered a presentation at the 3rd Kotor International Maritime Conference (KIMC 2023) in Montenegro on «Teaching maritime law according to STCW Convention. Issues and solutions within MareLaw project» highlighting the activities performed within MareLaw project.


MareLaw project is Erasmus+ project KA2 (Cooperation partnership in higher education) with the full title «Upgrading and harmonization of Maritime law STCW based curriculum for Maritime students». The participants of the MareLaw project are University of Split, Politechnical University of Catalunya and Riga Technical University. The main objective of the project is to improve and harmonise elements of the maritime law curriculum in according to the STCW convention in the involved partner universities in the maritime field. The guidelines for harmonization of Maritime law courses according to STCW Convention will be prepared within the project and distributed to maritime HEIs in the project partner countries. These guidelines can be used also by any HEI in other countries. The information on the teaching materials for maritime law, as well, will be prepared and made available in online for students and teachers.
